SOME people living near the under-construction Les Beaucamps High School say they have been seriously misled by the Education Department after a giant steel structure appeared on the skyline.
Douzenier David Chester said many were angry that impressions of the finished school showed little intrusion on views in the area, yet the reality was quite different.
'This development is most distressing to many of the local residents and, while accepting that this may be a fait accompli, they are most angry that they have been seriously misled by the various States departments as to the impact on their environment.'
Education minister Carol Steere yesterday admitted that the construction looked stark, but maintained that photo montages displayed previously were an accurate reflection of what the finished building would look like.
