JAMES MCLAUGHLIN (pictured) took victory for a second week in a row by winning the Velo Club's 15-mile time trial on Sunday breaking the club record for the distance in the process.

In near perfect conditions, McLaughlin's time of 32min. 12sec. was enough to take the win from second-placed Aaron Bailey and third-placed Tony Bleasdale with Neil Ridley in fourth and Commonwealth Games cyclist Josh Gosselin completing the top five.

Paul O'Reilly and Mark Smith were again separated by only a handful of seconds while Graham Le Maitre, Stuart Wallbridge and Karina Bowie, who was also the fastest woman, rounded the top 10.

As well as McLaughlin's record ride, no fewer than three other records tumbled on the day with Bailey, Le Maitre and Bowie all setting new best times for their respective categories.
