La Fregate Hotel has appointed Simon Dufty as its new General Manager.

Mr Dufty brings a wealth of experience to La Fregate having worked at some of the Channel Islands' premier establishments during the past 30 years. A number of these were spent at Longueville Manor, part of the internationally acclaimed Relais et Châteaux consortium of fine establishments. This was followed by a period at The Atlantic Hotel, another family-owned four star hotel and member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World.

Moving away from hotels for four years, Mr Dufty became managing partner of Le Frère Restaurant at Rozel in Jersey which enjoyed many years of great success.

Missing the hotel environment, Mr Dufty returned to play an instrumental role in the conversion of Cardington House from a private residence to a luxury five bedroom boutique hotel.

"I am delighted to be bringing my knowledge and experience to La Fregate to further support and enhance the fine reputation that the hotel has established over the past 30 years. I would like to praise the current team for their hard work and professionalism and I look forward to working with them to maintain, and build on, the already high standards that have been achieved" he said.
