THE island's new lieutenant-governor was sworn in at at St James yesterday.

THE island's new lieutenant-governor was sworn in at at St James yesterday.

His Excellency told guests that he and his wife were taking on a civic responsibility with a feeling of great humility and he spoke of the distinguished individuals who had gone before him in the role.

His Excellency was accompanied by his son, serving army officer Captain Robert Walker, when, led by HM Sheriff Richard De La Mare, he carried the Royal Warrant into the building for inspection.

Wife Lynda, their children James and Suzie and the Lt-Governor's father, Group Captain Sidney Walker, and mother, Chris, were also in attendance.
