Shreck could be replaced

CHARLIE SHRECK'S success on return to the county cricket champions Nottinghamshire this week has put in doubt his presence for the inaugural Guernsey Premier League.

But the GPL Twenty20 event is still on course to be a big hit, according to tournament director Mark Latter, who is still working on which two professionals will lead the Mourant Ozannes and Wave Telecom sides.

As of now, only James Kirtley and Shaun Udal have been confirmed, playing for BDO and Cenkos, with various avenues being looked at for the remaining two sides.

Wave were originally scheduled to be led by Shreck, the Nottinghamshire bowler (pictured), who at the time was on loan at rivals Kent. But the 33-year-old seamer has been recalled by Notts and took 4-51 against Hampshire in the first day of their ongoing County Championship clash at Trent Bridge.
