AFTER two weeks' hard training in Germany and Sheffield Alice Loveridge returned to competitive action last weekend and retained her women's Jersey Open title.
The Sarnian saw off some talented UK opposition in the process of retaining her title at the Geoff Reed Table Tennis Centre in St Clement.
Loveridge defeated Emily Bates, England's No. 1 junior girl, in three straight sets and also saw off arch rival Emma Vickers, the England No. 5 ranked female.
Loveridge defeated Vickers twice at the recent Grand Prix event in Doncaster on her way to the under-21 title, both encounters being five-set thrillers, and nothing changed in Jersey.
