Hooper hits season's first century as Argylls wallop Cobo

AN EXCELLENT unbeaten century in front of the island captain and manager, what more could David Hooper have wanted in the opening match of the GCA Championship?

His jubiliation as the milestone was brought up, albeit in unconventional circumstances, was clear for all to see and he deserved every moment of it.

Not long afterwards his day was made complete as Argylls cruised to a convincing eight-wicket victory over champions Cobo in a match between two weakened sides.

'It's just nice to score some runs,' said a grinning Hooper, who finished on 107 not out.
