A WOMAN was pulled to the ground and a table knocked over when one dog attacked another at the Sausmarez Manor Farmers' Market.

Childcare officer Linda Garnham, 52, was at the market on Saturday with her six-year-old shih-tzu, Lulu.

'As we came to one table, a greyhound leapt from underneath it and grabbed Lulu by the neck,' she said.

The greyhound's owner, Catriona Stares, had been at the market distributing leaflets for the forthcoming Guernsey Literary Festival.

'I am extremely sorry that this occurred,' she said.
