Dodd lands four titles on his perfect night
GUERNSEY may have surrendered the Aggregate Trophy to Jersey for just the fourth time since inception in 1973, but they managed to secure the highly sought after Green Trophy and also edged the amount of individual Channel Island Championships won.
GUERNSEY may have surrendered the Aggregate Trophy to Jersey for just the fourth time since inception in 1973, but they managed to secure the highly sought after Green Trophy and also edged the amount of individual Channel Island Championships won.
The Channel Island Championships finals were held at The Geoff Reed Table Tennis Centre on Friday evening and as always a large Guernsey contingent of 70-plus travelled down to support the Sarnian competitors.
Guernsey managed to edge the evening by winning 10 individual titles to Jersey's nine.
This culminated with Garry Dodd (pictured) deservedly retaining his Channel Islands men's singles crown for the third consecutive year, something that has not been done since Jersey's Frank Bougeard from 1992 to 1995.
