GUERNSEY rugby player James Regnard was found guilty in the Magistrate's Court yesterday of assaulting two Jersey opponents after last year's Siam Cup.
The incident happened in the early hours of 2 May after both teams had been socialising in St Peter Port following Guernsey's 36-0 defeat.
Crown Advocate Graeme McKerrell told the court that Regnard, 31, went to the hotel where the Jersey team was staying to 'administer summary justice' after young Guernsey player Tom Ceillam was assaulted in Town.
Regnard, of Haute Rive, 2, Queen's Road, St Peter Port, denied two counts of assault.
He has a similar previous conviction from 2003 and will be sentenced on 16 June once a probation report has been prepared.
He was granted unconditional bail.
