AFTER trekking for two days, nine exhausted islanders completed a walk of nearly 70 miles on Saturday.
The Bailiwick Challenge, which was backed by Generali Worldwide, began early on Friday morning and saw the participants walk 40 miles around Guernsey's coast and a further 30 miles around Herm, Jethou, Brecqhou, Sark and Alderney.
Just after 8pm they reached their finishing point at the St John Ambulance and Rescue Service station in the Rohais.
Half of the money raised will be given to the service in its 75th year and the rest will be shared equally between Help a Guernsey Child, Guernsey Disability Alliance, Guernsey Sports Commission and Guernsey Arts Commission.
