TEAM Guernsey will be 'going for glass' at this month's NatWest Island Games.
For the first time at a major international sporting event, glass medals will be presented after the 2011 organising committee commissioned Isle of Wight Studio Glass to produce 1,555 gold, silver and bronze medals for the Games.
They have worked with the Games graphic designers, Octopus Designs, to create them.
'This is a truly great compliment for these two local companies to be commissioned to design and produce the Games medals, which I am sure are destined to be a collector's piece,' said David Ball, the chairman of the Isle of Wight Island Games Association.
