Savident happy with results of spending spree

WITH a mixture of big names and budding youngsters, Mourant Ozannes on paper look to have the team ready to win the inaugural Guernsey Premier League.

Island all-rounder Lee Savident captains the side, who begin with back-to-back matches tomorrow afternoon, and the former Hampshire player is happy with the squad at his disposal.

'Whether or not it is the strongest is for other people to discuss, but I am happy with the squad and I know what they are all capable of,' he said.

'Getting Justin Meades in recently has helped a lot because we were perhaps a little bit bowler heavy before that.'
