Women on the hunt for another medal

LOOKING at the past decade of Island Games action, it is fair to say that Guernsey's women basketball team have enjoyed almost unparalleled success.

Their last four Games have produced one medal of each colour and another narrow semi-final defeat, all under the leadership of coach Patrick Ogier.

And as they prepare for the 2011 campaign, in which they will face Bermuda and Isle of Wight in the group stage, Ogier believes they will be in the medal hunt once again.

'We have got a strong squad going again this time. There are some changes to last time, but this one is much younger,' he said.
