PAUL FRANKS won the battle of the Nottinghamshire pros as Mourant Ozannes condemned Wave Warriors to their second defeat of the opening weekend in game three.

Franks scored a fine 94 as Lee Savident's men chased down a testing target of 160, the biggest of the tournament to date.

The Notts all-rounder eventually fell to the last ball of the 18th over with his team still 14 shy of victory, lifting a big hit to deep wicket where Carson Lederle took a good catch.

But any self doubts as to whether he had blown Mourant Ozannes' chance of a first win, were soon dashed as the Warriors' island star Tim Duke bowled two successive sets of four wides to end the game in the very next over.

Warriors only had themselves to blame for their defeat.
