TIM RAVENSCROFT hit a stunning century to help power Hampshire to victory in their Second XI Twenty20 clash with Surrey at Purley.

The 20-year-old Sarnian (pictured) again opened the batting for the south coast county after winning the toss and he duly smashed 103 from just 53 deliveries, remaining unbeaten at the end of the innings.

It helped Hampshire to an imposing 205 for five, with fellow youngsters James Vince and Liam Dawson also chipping in with runs.

That was far too much for Surrey to chase, the home side reaching only 144 for six from their 20 overs, despite Ravenscroft not bowling, resulting in a 61-run win for Hampshire.
