The 19-year-old this week became the youngest player in the world top 100 as well as the new British No. 2.
She made her senior Wimbledon debut last year when also a wild card, but lost in the first round.
The All England Club have also extended wild card invitations to Laura Robson, the former Junior Wimbledon champion, Naomi Broady, Katie O'Brien and Emily Webley-Smith.
Today, Watson faces Misaki Doi in the second round of the Aegon Classic in Birmingham.
The world No. 133 from Japan beat Romanian Edina Gallovits-Hall 6-4, 6-2 yesterday.
