THE local boxing season draws to a close tomorrow night as a strong Guernsey team prepares to host the North West Counties at St Pierre Park.

A total of 11 bouts are scheduled for the 40th anniversary Charity Gala Night event, which includes a near perfect balance of youth and experience.

Topping the bill will be crowd favourite Tom Duff, who takes on Scott Fitzgerald in a rematch of their clash from February at Beau Sejour, when the Englishman won unanimously on points after an entertaining bout.

As on many previous occasions, though, it will be 2010 junior ABA champion Gage Demore who attracts much attention, as he takes on Kofi Yates in his first local fight since losing in this year's ABA semi-finals.
