A CONTROVERSIAL walking route to school is being sabotaged by an additional bus service for children who live nearby, Living Streets said yesterday.


A CONTROVERSIAL walking route to school is being sabotaged by an additional bus service for children who live nearby, Living Streets said yesterday.
The traffic-free path to Baubigny Schools is being used by few pupils, which the pedestrian safety group blamed on the Environment Department laying on an extra school bus.
'The children the path is meant for in the Bouet area now have two school buses, which hasn't helped,' Living Streets secretary Pat Wisher said. 'If they sponsored the path it would be better for all.'
Living Streets chairman Deputy Tom Le Pelley (pictured) has seen up to a dozen children at a time on the path, but usage was still low.
