Airport boss hopeful of six months' notice over runway closures

The airport is likely to be closed for a total of eight days and 12 nights over two years to complete the £80m project. There are likely to be four closure periods in total.

Airport director Colin Le Ray hoped that airlines would be given six months' notice of the closure dates.

Guernsey International Business Association chairman Dominic Wheatley hoped with enough notice, business meetings requiring travel to and from the island could be organised around the closures or flights could be taken earlier to meet certain events.
