Guernsey National Association of Schoolmasters Union of Woman Teachers secretary Caroline Bowker (pictured) yesterday expressed her concerns about the decision, announced on Tuesday.
The department wants to see students wear shirts, ties and blazers instead of polo and sweat shirts.
But Mrs Bowker thought the decision was unnecessary and offensive.
