DAVID JEFFERY equalled the course record for La Grande Mare at the annual Captain's Day event.
But while Jeffery (pictured) took home the scratch prize for his brilliant 63 the main prize went to handicap winner Len Milton who brought home 42 Stableford points.
Jeffery afterwards revealed he had not the best of starts.
'I had a shaky start on the first, hooking my first and played a provisional.
'But I found the first ball and made par.'
