I've never seen anyone do this to horses, says stable owner
OTTERBOURNE Stables owner Caroline Jackson has never before seen anything like the treatment meted out to three horses she found running loose early on Saturday.

OTTERBOURNE Stables owner Caroline Jackson has never before seen anything like the treatment meted out to three horses she found running loose early on Saturday.
The animals had been shot at with BB guns and pelted with potatoes in what owner Sue Gallienne has described as a sick and twisted attack.
'We've had a few joyriders break into our fields but never have our horses been hurt,' said Mrs Jackson, 50, who has been involved with the stables for 25 years. 'I think it will make horse owners much more aware. Horses can't tell us if someone has been in their fields at night, so we need to be more cautious.'
She added: 'Whoever did this may start off by doing something like this, but who knows what they are capable of next? Thankfully, the horses ran inland because if they had gone the opposite way they might have gone over the cliff edge.'
