The 36-year-old advocate (pictued) set off from St Martin's Point at about 6.30am, swimming anti-clockwise.
To cheers from friends and family, he touched the same rocks 11 hours and 25 minutes later.
He described the 21.1-nautical-mile swim as exhilarating, but it nearly ended in disaster when his support boat broke down close to Pleinmont.
