EDUCATION has bowed to pressure and released GCSE statistics directly comparable to England.

But it insisted that data for individual schools would not be published.

Parents, teachers and deputies had called for the department to provide information on how many students achieved five GCSEs at C or above including maths and English after it was clear that England released such results.
