Deputy Jane Stephens was commenting on the latest development in the GCSE data saga.
Deputy Stephens (pictured), who was previously head of Le Rondin School, said: 'What parents, students and employers need is secure information to build confidence in the service given by the Education Department.
'The futures of our young people and of the island are dependent on the quality of educational provision and today it seems uncertain what standards of attainment are, due to a spat between States departments,' she said.
