Frith champion again 10 years after her first title
A CLEAN sweep of titles made it a perfect day for Chantelle Frith on finals day of the Guernsey Senior Closed Tennis Championships at Longcamps.
A CLEAN sweep of titles made it a perfect day for Chantelle Frith (pictured) on finals day of the Guernsey Senior Closed Tennis Championships at Longcamps.
She made it a hat-trick of singles titles when comfortably defeating Carly Tucknott, following on from successes in 2001 and 2008, before teaming up with her singles victim in the doubles, in which they defeated youngsters Georgina Denton and Imogen Oldfield.
Following that, she completed a mixed doubles victory with regular partner Rob West, the Island Games bronze medal-winning pairing defeating Patrick Ogier and Denton.
But her greatest achievement was in the singles competition in which she defeated favourite Denton in an epic semi-final, eventually prevailing 6-3, 5-7, 10-8.
