Despite being asked to provide the pass rates for each individual school in 2009, 2010 and 2011 – based on five AA to C grades, including maths and English – the department reiterated its anti-league table stance to former Le Rondin head Jane Stephens.
Education currently releases an overall statistic that includes all schools, which it says enables a better comparison with the UK benchmark given the island's 11-plus system.
However, Deputy Stephens (pictured) said many UK schools operated within selective systems.
