A PROPOSAL to cut public funding for the colleges has reignited the 11-plus debate, according to one States member.

Deputy Barry Brehaut (pictured) said the proposals, which will be discussed in the Assembly this week, have inevitably led to questions being raised about Guernsey's education system.

The Policy Council has put forward proposals to cut funding to Ladies', Elizabeth and Blanchelande Colleges by nearly a quarter over seven years as part of an effort to reduce public spending.
