THE Policy Council has signalled its intention to commission a review of the island's education services.

A joint statement issued on behalf of all the ministers last night said that after Chief Minister Lyndon Trott proposed the idea, it was unanimously agreed.

Over the weekend, Education minister Carol Steere indicated that she was disappointed with the way Deputy Trott had called for a full review and promised a robust debate on the issue.

However, yesterday, with the Policy Council unanimously agreeing that a proposal for a review be drawn up, it looked as if she had changed her mind.
