A BURST water pipe caused damage to businesses in Town yesterday.

The service pipe in the Pollet broke between 9 and 10am, according to Guernsey Water.

It affected properties from the bottom of Smith Street to clothes shop White Stuff.

Restaurant Village East was the worst affected and owner Norberto Alves, 42, said the water rose to 6ft throughout the building.
