JAMES HAMON will look to try and forge a career in professional golf later this month as he travels to the UK for a three-day workout at Worthing.
The 16-year-old Sarnian is a junior Channel Island champion and part of the senior Guernsey inter-insular team, with his handicap now at his best of two.
He will play with two professionals in the UK in a fortnight's time, with the chance coming about through pro Steve Rowley, a close friend of Guernsey Sports Commission vice-chairman David Warr, who has partnered Hamon in previous tournaments.
The teenager could play as many as four rounds of golf throughout the three days, including 36 holes on the middle day, as they look to see whether Hamon has the potential to make it as a professional in the sport.
