AN Andy Whalley-inspired Casuals demolished Yobbos last weekend to launch their challenge for the Guernsey Hockey Association's men's division one title.
A weakened Casuals side had taken the field in the opening match of the season and were soundly beaten by Unwantables, but it was a different beast that was on show last Saturday afternoon as they fired nine without reply against Yobbos.
Last season's whipping boys, Yobbos started this season reinvigorated with a draw against Independents and the narrowest of defeats to Unwantables, but missing a few of their more influential players and up against a revitalised Casuals side it was all one-way traffic.
Chris Colclough scored twice and Rob Newton smashed in a half volley that sent defenders fleeing, but it was Whalley who was the class act and star of the show as he hit a double hat-trick.
