CHIEF MINISTER Lyndon Trott has told the States that a review of education services in Guernsey should be completed by the end of December.
It will examine the trend of exam results over the last decade, the effectiveness of school performance setting between the department and schools and the effectiveness of external school validation.
It will also look at specific issues such as the effect of engaging staff and retention.
Deputy Trott (pictured) has recommended that the States do not accept the resignations of the Education Department members or its minister, Deputy Carol Fletcher.
'At this stage we do not have any evidence to show that she should not receive the backing of this Assembly,' he said. 'To accept it would make it an uninformed decision and that would make it a wrong decision.'
