PHIL OGIER has made the perfect start to the new season by winning the first open tournament – the Senior Group.
PHIL OGIER has made the perfect start to the new season by winning the first open tournament – the Senior Group.
Ogier (pictured) last won the tournament in 2009 and he was able to regain the title after posting an impressive five-game victory over Olly Langlois in the final.
The tournament contained a few surprises in the early stages, up to and including the semi-finals.
Upcoming junior and second division player Alex Robinson caused an upset by qualifying from his group, defeating the experienced first division player Martin Sarre in a five-game encounter in the process.
