Casuals hammer the defending champions

IF LAST Friday's early season encounter between two of the hockey league's leading sides is anything to go by then this year's Men's Division One is going to be an extremely tasty affair.

The clash of defending champions Colombians and rising stars Casuals had seven goals, a saved penalty flick, a flurry of yellows and a red card to an island star, which has subsequently been rescinded.

Going into the match Colombians had managed to win the 'Upton' in Jersey and record two one-goal margin victories while Casuals had lost their opener but demolished Cenkos Yobbos 9-0 in their second match.

Straight from the push back Casuals continued where they had left off the week previously, pressing their opponents into making mistakes and driving forward quickly to create goalscoring opportunities.
