A BRIGHT new all-round talent has landed on these shores.
You won't get to see her speciality yet – that is middle-distance running – but while she prepares for another track and field season, Emma Leask (pictured) is catching the attention of the island netball selectors.
Beau Sejour outdoor netball courts and the Footes Lane running track can be miserably cold and damp places in winter time, but the 18-year-old is a hardy lass and is not complaining.
Being from Shetland she knows what a bad winter is all about.
Leask has been in Guernsey for six weeks and is loving it. She will be here for the best part of 12 months as she takes a gap year before, she hopes, heading off to university.
