A TEENAGE cyclist had a lucky escape after what police described as a serious accident on Saturday morning left his bike crumpled.

When officers first attended the Rohais incident at about 7.55am, they believed the 18-year-old had life-threatening injuries. However, they were not as bad as first feared and the young man was discharged from hospital late on Saturday afternoon.

Police and the Ambulance and Rescue Service were called to attend the crash at the Collings Road/Rohais traffic lights.

It is believed the male on a red bicycle was travelling down the road but did not see a silver Toyota that was stopped at the traffic lights.
