FLYBE and Blue Islands have called upon handling agents to settle their dispute with management and avoid strike action at Jersey Airport.

Servisair employees voted unanimously to hold a strike action postal ballot after morale in the workplace was said to have 'reached rock bottom'.

A spokesman for Flybe said yesterday that both sides should 'get round the table' to find a solution to the problems.

'We are aware of the threat and we are confident that service will not be affected due to strike action from Unite members,' said Blue Islands managing director Rob Veron.
