GFSC review calls for a financial services strategy

A CLEAR strategy is needed for financial services in Guernsey.

That is a key recommendation of an independent evaluation review of the Guernsey Financial Services Commission, published today.

The report also proposes some significant changes to the operations of the GFSC, which it has accepted, in the hope of controlling costs and staff growth.

It is generally supportive of the commission's activities, but quite critical of its relationship with government, noting the commission appeared to have confused reporting lines to the States.
