ALISON MERRIEN remains on course for a clean sweep of titles in this year's GIBA indoor championships.

On the opening weekend of section A finals, the international star skipped Carol Ingrouille to a comfortable victory in the women's pairs and played a key role in Wonder Women taking the women's triples title from 3 of a Kind.

This weekend, Merrien features in the women's singles showdown against Shirley Petit and in an expanded Wonder Women squad challenging for the fours crown against Pilltakers.

Merrien and Ingrouille did not make the best of starts in the women's pairs final, losing a single on the opening end to Anne Bewey and Shirley Jehan, and dropped singles on three of the first five ends.
