THE sale of its storage and packing facility in St Martin's has left the Tumaini Fund less than two weeks to find a new site to store donated equipment for orphans in Tanzania.

The charity, which supports HIV widows and orphans in Tanzania, has had free use of a vinery at Le Long Trac, St Martin's, for about three years to store donated items and containers before they are shipped to the East African country.

But owners Rodney and Audrey Brouard are selling the site this week, although Mr Brouard has negotiated with the new owners to allow Tumaini to remain there until the end of the year.

Chairman of the charity Dr Susan Wilson (pictured) said she had deep gratitude to the Brouards for providing the space and understood his decision.
