BUILDING fit-for-purpose premises or converting a States-owned property could save the Home Department more than £600,000 in rent, its minister has said.
The department has formed a project team to identify which of its services could be housed in the same premises and where they could go.
Deputy Geoff Mahy said the department currently spent £683,000 on rents and leasing.
'Compared to other departments that's quite a lot. I don't think Housing spends anything on rent for example,' he said.
