COMMODORE Clipper's 25-hour journey through storm force winds and waves the size of three-storey buildings finally ended yesterday afternoon.
It docked in Jersey just before 3pm with the help of a tug having first been diverted through Guernsey at around 10.30pm on Wednesday and then spent much of the time sheltering after that off the east coast of the sister island.
Waves had peaked at 33ft – but only one of those passengers scheduled to go to Jersey took the option of getting off in Guernsey instead of finishing their journey.
Those who remained on board were served free fish and chips to keep their spirits up.
