A POLICEMAN was hospitalised yesterday morning after he was attacked in broad daylight near the Salerie Corner.

Neighbours reported seeing a man shouting and swearing at officers before being wrestled to the ground.

Spots of blood on the pavement could be seen where the incident took place, near the QEII Marina slipway.

Inspector Trevor Coleman said a man had been arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer and appealed for witnesses to contact CID.
