OUTGOING Education minister Carol Steere this morning called for a judicial review of the events that led to the review of the service.

She said there had been a 'grave injustice' directed at the chief officer and a 'grooming campaign to deliver doubt and suggestion of huge failings.'

Deputy Steere, pictured, resigned from her post in the wake of the Mulkerrin review which identified multiple failings in how the service was run.

The Policy Council ordered the review after revelations about poor GCSE results at the High Schools.

The States will elect her replacement this afternoon, with Deputies Allister Langlois, Robert Sillars and Jenny Tasker all expected to stand.
