A BEACH cafe which has gained international renown will be able to offer more jobs and stay open year-round if planners agree it can extend its premises.

The Beach Cafe at Fermain Bay, which has previously been named the second best in the world by The Guardian newspaper, wants to extend its restaurant area and move the building up a level.

Owner Belmiro de Freitas said the plans were almost the same as an application he put in three years ago.

The only minor variation was that the toilet block would be increased with a small flat-roof area to gain access from the new part of the restaurant extension.
