ALMOST 30,000 islanders have so far signed up to the electoral roll.
The figure stood at 28,954 yesterday afternoon and islanders still have until midnight tonight to register.
The Home Department hoped that 35,000 islanders would enrol to vote.
Deputy registrar-general of electors Paul Whitfield, pictured, said that there had been a last minute rush of people signing up.
'The last week has seen a predicted surge in registration, particularly online, with over 1,000 registration received,' he said.
