THE States' final sitting of the current term continues this morning, with members picking up the debate on Social Security's proposed benefits reforms.

A decision is expected today and we'll have a report in Thursday's paper.

We'll also be at a meeting this evening being held by the Town Centre Partnership. All Town residents are invited to this 'stakeholders' meeting', which starts at 6pm at Les Cotils.

The aim is to give residents the chance to say what they think about current initiatives.

Jersey environmental campaigners Save Our Shoreline have expressed their lack of enthusiasm for the idea of having Guernsey's waste burnt in Jersey's incinerator, and we'll be talking to them today to find out more about their objections.

And in the world of local sport there's the second semi-final in this year's FA Cup tonight. The match, between Sylvans and Vale Rec, kicks off at the North Field at 7.30 and we'll have a report and pictures in tomorrow's paper.

Our sports reporters will also be looking at potential replacements for injured Muratti squad member Kieran Mahon, whose ankle injury rules him out of the match against Alderney.
