A SPECIAL flag was raised on the SeaGuernsey mast yesterday to mark Commonwealth Day.
Two South African nationals from Elizabeth College were given the chance to help out and plant a jacaranda tree native to the country at the St Julian's Avenue Boer War Memorial.
Jordan Cameron, 15, moved to Guernsey from Johannesburg when he was four.
He said raising the flag was a good opportunity to think about the Commonwealth.
'It's a visible point in Guernsey and the flag is pretty impressive.'
